Help Reid Premier Farms Reach Water
We own 12+ acres of California high desert. Water is the foundational barrier to developing this property into a working farm. Your support helps us drill the well that makes everything else possible.
Where the Project Stands Today
Reid Premier Farms owns land at 12 Sequoia Blvd, California City, CA — in the high desert of the Mojave, approximately 100 miles north of Los Angeles.
The property is currently undeveloped. Before we can plant crops, build infrastructure, or host visitors, we need to establish a reliable water source. Without water, nothing else can happen.
We are currently in the research and planning phase — obtaining professional estimates, studying groundwater data, and preparing for well permitting through Kern County Environmental Health.

Well Research & Feasibility
We've researched actual well completion reports from nearby properties in California City through the California Department of Water Resources database
Nearby Well Data (California City — DWR Well Completion Reports)
These are actual wells drilled in California City, sourced from the California DWR Online System for Well Completion Reports (OSWCR). Data is spatially registered to the nearest 1-mile section.

Groundwater Basin
The property sits in the Fremont Valley Groundwater Basin, designated by DWR as low priority and not critically over-drafted. No SGMA pumping restrictions currently apply.
Expected Well Depth
Based on nearby wells, we anticipate a depth of 600-900 feet, with static water levels around 400-600 feet below surface. Yields in the area range from 25 to 2,400 GPM.
Permitting
Well permits are issued by Kern County Environmental Health Services. An agricultural well permit requires site setbacks, a licensed C-57 drilling contractor, and compliance with state well standards.
Estimated project cost: Based on nearby well data and California drilling costs ($40-65/ft for mixed alluvial formations), we estimate that establishing a water source — including drilling, casing, pump, storage, and permitting — may require approximately $55,000-$75,000 for a 600-700ft agricultural well. This is a preliminary estimate based on regional data; we are obtaining written quotes from licensed C-57 drillers and will update this figure as firm proposals come in.
Development Phases
We're building in phases. Water comes first — everything else depends on it.

Support the Water Well Campaign
Every contribution — one-time or monthly — brings us closer to establishing a reliable water source. Here's what your support funds.
Funds a soil sample test
Funds one foot of well drilling
Funds the well permit application
Funds pump installation materials
These are contribution examples, not promises that a particular dollar amount purchases a specific portion of the well. All funds support legitimate project costs associated with establishing the water supply.
One-Time Contribution
Every contribution brings us closer to water.

Business & Custom Sponsorship
Want to sponsor a specific part of the project — the well drilling, solar pump, fencing, or greenhouse? Businesses and individuals can discuss custom sponsorship arrangements tailored to specific project components.
Discuss Custom SponsorshipNote: Reid Premier Farms is currently operating as a for-profit agricultural business, not a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Contributions support the development of the farm and its water infrastructure. We recommend consulting a tax professional regarding the deductibility of your contribution. You will receive a receipt for your records.
